Bones

BONE DISCOVERY !!

Joel and Reid found some large exciting looking bones on the grass and underneath some dirt at home. They bought them to share with us at school.

Were they dinosaur bones? NO! They were cow bones.

The boys showed us how the bones go together.

Their friend Paula the vet came to visit us at school and answered our questions. She talked about the bones and where they fit on a cow. It was really interesting.

Did you know that the bones get ground up and made into fertiliser? We call it 'blood and bone' and use it on our gardens. The blood comes from the dead cow too.

  1. This sounds exciting. Finding bones is like a mystery. What did they belong? How do they fit together? It sounds like you have learnt a lot about these bones and then found ut what happened to them. Well done, Room 2.
